While vending at the Bandon Old Town Marketplace, I’ve taken to tooling free-hand patches. Due to the environment of the Market itself being in an old warehouse right on the water in Old Town, my toolings have become more and more oceanic. These are a bit rough and each one is an original experiment. I’m trying new techniques and playing with new designs with each piece. They’re a lot of fun and often inspired by the Customers that chat with me while I’m working and vending.

I’ve been cutting scraps into “blanks” so that I can continue to do these freehand sketches and tooling experiments while I’m vending. They lend themselves well to being portable and social, and they’re a lot of fun. It’s a creative way to practice and experiment with new products and designs. Come on by one of our events and check us out! You very well may inspire a custom piece of tooled leather!
